12 Things You've Probably Dealt With If You Are Fair - Blog 6

Image
These are things that I have personally dealt with. I hope it gives you a good laugh! 1. Applying too much bronzer  The first struggle is trying to decide if even attempting with bronzer is a good idea. And if you are the person who chose to try it out, then applying too much has probably been an issue at least once (especially if the bronzer is too warm!). 2. BLENDING Blending is something you should be doing whenever wearing makeup. But especially when 90% of the makeup up products you are probably using aren't meant for your fair skin tone, it is SO important to blend. I've definitely experienced this more than once. 3. Trying to decide if you want your eyeshadow to compliment your skin tone (and hair) or your eye color I don't know about you but I LOVE warm colors on my eyes for two reasons: they look great on blue eyes and they make you look awake and healthy. However, with fair skin tones cooler tones can actually look better. Since the warmth in the wa...

Impact 10x10x10 - Blog 5

Image
Continuing on with my blog from last week, I would like to talk about HeForShe's Impact 10x10x10 initiation. An excerpt from the site describes the pilot initiative as "[engaging] key decision makers in governments, corporations, and universities around the world to drive change from the top. IMPACT Champions make gender equality an institutional priority by implementing the HeForShe IMPACT framework and developing three bold, game-changing commitments to advance and achieve gender equality for all. These leaders are committed to changing the world". I believe this excerpt really shows the engagement that this campaign has been able to obtain since starting up. There are many very important leaders and well-known companies and universities on their list that has given full support of gender equality. Some include the presidents of Sweden and Japan, CEOs of Electronic Arts and Schneider Electric, and many universities. To access the full list of Impact Champions,...

HeForShe - Blog 4

Image
This week I am sharing one of my favorite charities/campaigns. Although there are many good ones I wanted to focus on something more specific, which is why I chose HeForShe. HeForShe is known for being a campaign that strives to create equality among men and women by having males by "agents for change". On HeForShe's website, anyone can pledge and be committed to help end inequality as much as possible. The website also has a world map that shows different levels of male pledges in each country. However, I'd argue that HeForShe is also a charity since they accept donations through their website. The site claims: "Donations support the United Nations global entity for gender equality". These donations. Most people probably recognize HeForShe through Emma Watson's role in media coverage for the campaign. I was surprised to read that some criticism involved with HeForShe has to do with Emma Watson not having experienced inequality due to her being ...

Snack Time With Kadence - Blog 3

This week I used Ripl for the first time. The part of my personal brand that I decided to capture with Ripl was my relationship with my horse, Kadence. I love my horse for many reasons with one in particular being that he is a free spirit who can be very misbehaved sometimes but also will eat almost anything. And I'm not just talking about horse-safe foods and drinks, he eats candy, processed foods, and baked goods also. However, due to the fact that many, if not all, of my videos of Kadence eating food were on my phone that I broke over summer, I was unable to recreate all the food videos for you. I chose not to because I did not want to put Kadence at risk for getting sick. Disclaimer: I only feed my horse human food on an irregular basis, I'm not a bad horse owner (many other people do this too). With that said, in this Ripl you will find Kadence thoroughly enjoying RedVines, strawberries, watermelon, orange, banana, and celery. The fruits and celery are all foods that h...

Instagram Tool I JUST Discovered - Blog 2

Image
Maybe I'm just slow at learning social media or maybe Instagram just recently came out with this, but considering that I am a newbie with my iPhone and don't read Instagram updates when they get installed, I was really shocked to figure out this feature all by myself! And I have been on Instagram for many years now so I would consider myself pretty familiar with the platform. Okay so the feature I am talking about is when you press and hold someone's handle (either in your feed or in your notifications). But not just holding on the handle for a while, I mean like you have to like press down and the phone will vibrate as it brings up the account's details (including their profile pic, some recent photos, and their following/follower info). And what's even cooler is that if you drag your finger up the screen it will show you options like follow, view profile, or message (even if you already follow someone). Not that this tool is necessary life changing to how I us...

My "Personal Brand" - Blog 1

Image
My goals, dreams, and ambitions are all very similar. I have two main ones: these are beauty related and fitness related. Ever since I was in high school (freshman and sophomore) I have been very passionate about all things beauty, specifically makeup. Not everyone thinks of makeup as a form of art but I really think it is, which is why I love it so much. Your face and body are your canvases and all that is left is to get creative with what you choose to do with makeup. I have never been one to experiment with different makeup looks that go beyond the "everyday" type makeup. But other forms of makeup would include editorial, runway, and stage (costume) makeup. Editorial and runway are specifically cool to look at because it is where people tend to get really creative and try new things out. So here is my first goal, dream, and ambition: I would love to work in the makeup industry in the marketing department. This is why I am currently studying marketing with my other concen...
